Building things that should exist.
I’m Sri Pavan Tej Balam — a full-stack developer who likes taking messy problems, figuring out how they work, and turning them into products people can actually use.

The goal was never just to build something. It was to solve a real problem well enough that people outside the room started paying attention.
Hackathons
Hackathons
Building under pressure. Solving real problems.
Hackathons have been where I’ve taken ideas from zero to working prototypes — combining AI, automation, data, and full-stack development to solve problems beyond the classroom.

Gitora — Open Source Repository Visualizer
Built with Hafsa Rumaiza and Supritha during MLH Hacktoberfest 2026 at React Hyderabad, where the team was recognized as a winner. Gitora helps developers understand complex open-source repositories by entering a repository URL. It generates an interactive flowchart of the project's entities, relationships, and overall structure, so an unfamiliar codebase is easier to navigate.

From idea → prototype → pitch.
Every hackathon taught me something different — from building under tight deadlines to working with teammates, understanding the real problem, making technical trade-offs, and learning how to communicate why something deserves to exist.
Still building. Still competing. Still learning.
Open Source
Beyond the Code
Building. Contributing. Learning in public.
Open source started as something I thought was only about writing code. Then I started contributing.
From investigating real issues in Microsoft’s Visual Studio Code repository to contributing to npm documentation and publishing developer tools, I’ve learned that open source is just as much about understanding problems as it is about solving them.
What I’ve contributed
Microsoft Visual Studio Code
Explored and contributed to real engineering discussions and issues within one of the world's most widely used developer tools — analyzing bug reports, understanding maintainer discussions, and investigating issues affecting developers.
npm Ecosystem
Contributed to npm documentation and published developer-focused packages to the npm ecosystem.
Published packages
npm-package-doctorAnalyze npm dependencies and generate package health, security, and maintainability reports.
@sripavantejb/vibeshieldA security-focused tool for AI-built and vibe-coded Node.js applications, designed to help identify issues before deployment.
Recognized for the journey
GRIT Award — Open Source Contribution
A recognition for work in open source, including npm documentation contributions and publishing developer tools for the wider community.
You don’t have to start by changing the world. Start by understanding one problem, fixing one thing, and contributing one small piece at a time.
Open source isn’t just where I write code. It’s where I learn how software is built by people beyond my own team.
Beyond Code
Leadership & Community
I don't just build products. I build teams, communities, and experiences.
As the elected President of the NIAT Media Council, I’ve spent the last 1.5+ years leading a creative team, managing campus media, organizing workshops, and turning ideas into experiences for hundreds of students.

What leadership taught me
01
Lead people
→ Build teams around strengths, not titles.
02
Ship under pressure
→ Events don't wait for perfect execution.
03
Create opportunities
→ Workshops became spaces for students to learn.
04
Tell better stories
→ Good work deserves good storytelling.
And the biggest lesson?
Leadership isn’t about being the person in front. It’s about making sure everyone around you gets the opportunity to do their best work.
